Design Your Own Vaysie
Meet Vaysie the Owl, the newest of Skoshie & Friends! Color her in, pick out her big sparkly eyes, and glue them on to give her a look that's all your own. It's an easy, no-mess craft for home, the classroom, library programs, or events.
What you'll need
- The free printable: Vaysie on page 1 and her eyes on page 2 (white paper, or cardstock for a sturdier owl)
- Crayons, markers or colored pencils
- Scissors and a glue stick
- Optional: a craft stick and tape to turn Vaysie into a puppet
How to make Vaysie

Print the pages
Print both pages at 100% ("Actual size," not "Fit to page").

Color Vaysie
Vaysie is a brown owl with a creamy tummy and an orange beak and feet, but a rainbow owl is great too! Leave the two big face patches light so her eyes stand out.

Pick her eyes
Page 2 has 9 pairs of eyes, enough to share with friends. Cut out one pair along the black outlines.

Give Vaysie her face
Turn the eyes so they stand tall, with the sparkle dots at the top and the pointy ends toward the outside of her face. Glue one on each face patch. Tip them a little to make her look curious, sleepy or silly!

Cut her out (optional)
With a grown-up's help, cut around Vaysie and tape a craft stick to the back for a puppet.
Bonus: draw your own eyes
No printer for page 2? Draw two big ovals on white paper, color them in, and leave little white dots for sparkles. Every owl looks different!
